Prof. D.H. Vynios obtained his diploma (Chemistry) in 1980 and Ph.D. (Biochemistry) in 1987 from the University of Patras, Greece. He spent one year at the Department of Biochemistry of the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology (London, UK). He is a member of the editorial board of one and act as reviewer in ten peer review scientific journals. He is a member of the Association of Greek Chemists and of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is co-author of 58 research publications in international journals.
Research Activities
1. Isolation, macromolecular structure, biochemical characterisation, and immunological properties of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans of various organisms, under normal and pathologic conditions (25 full papers and 40 presentations).
2. Isolation and characterisation of enzymes of various organisms, under normal and pathologic conditions (10 full papers and 20 presentations).
3. Development and application of bioanalytical methods (15 full papers and 22 presentations).
4. Hydroxyapatite formation in vivo and in vitro (3 full papers and 5 presentations).
5. Macromolecular interactions of connective tissue macromolecules (5 full papers and 17 presentations).
6. Development and application of methods for the detection of proteoglycan autoantibodies in serum (2 full paper and 4 presentations).
